Accommodation and Facilities
Lebone College of Emergency Care has two residences:
- Main Residence: This residence provides accommodation for students with self help kitchens, recreational areas including a gymnasium. It is located inside the College premises in Arcadia.
- Kalafong Residence: This accommodation also offers self help kitchens, public areas and recreational facilities. It is located in Kalafong Tertiary Hospital’s premises in Atteridgeville.
- Accommodation is prioritized for full time students.
- Safe parking is available and charged at standard rates.
Social Responsibility
The College strives for environmentally ethical principles by:
- Promoting recycling by students and staff.
- Disposing of hazardous waste responsibly through approved service providers.
- Conducting community outreach programmes for raising awareness in Emergency Medical Care.
Campus Security
Lebone College of Emergency Care outsources security services which ensures a safe and secure campus environment for staff, students and visitors to the campus. While appropriate measures are in place to ensure safety at all times, a culture of collective responsibility in respect of the safety of persons and property is promoted. The 24-hour security service includes perimeter control, access control and ensures safety and security of assets and personnel. The college has 24-hour surveillance through CCTV cameras.
Places of Interest
The College is located within the health cluster of Pretoria with institutions such as Steve Biko Academic Hospital, Tshwane District Hospital and Femina Private Hospital. It is also within the walking distance of three malls/shopping complexes, namely, Sterland, Sancardia and Sunnypark. The Union Buildings are visible from the campus. The State Theatre is also very accessible from the campus. Main public transportation routes are accessible from the campus.
Library
Students have access to the Sefako Makgatho University (SMU) and College libraries which offer academic resources to support the culture of learning.
Computer Lab
A state of the art computer lab is available at the Arcadia campus for students to complete assignments, portfolios of evidence and conduct research. Full time IT support is available on campus to help.
Gym
The Arcadia campus boasts state of the art indoor and outdoor gymnasiums. This will help students prepare for their physical assessments and nature of work on the road.
